SARNANO
A famous spa resort and ski resort in the beautiful Marchigiano hinterland, positioned 539 metres above sea level. Situated 60 kms (37 miles) from the sea, 12 kms (7.5 miles) from the ski slopes of the Sibillini - Sassotetto and Maddalena (1,300 metres above sea level) and around 20 kms (12.5 miles) from Lago di Fiastra.
The medieval town of Sarnano is set in unspoilt countryside, on the borders of the National Park of the Sibillini Mountains, where nature has inspired poets and the magic of the Sibilla continues to bewitch. The historical, artistic and cultural evidence of this magic influence continues to enchant the visitor.
One is able to retread ancient paths, to visit places of meditation and worship, to lose oneself in the evocative atmosphere of abbeys and castles, to rediscover popular customs of old and gastronomic traditions.
Sarnano is a lively little town offering a wide range of diversions, such as: tennis courts, sports stadium, swimming pools, mini-golf, rifle range, small lakes for sporting fishing, horse riding, gyms, disco, cinema, a hang gliding school and an exquisite medieval theatre and two new wellness centers (Novidra and Montanaria) .
Besides all this, Sarnano has been host for over 27 years to the ‘National Antique & Artistic Craft Market ', which is held every spring in the narrow medieval streets of the historical centre. During the year there is a busy calendar of concerts, exhibitions, shows, sporting events, and in August the traditional ‘Palio of the Serafino'.
In half day you can see: Castle of Caldarola, Belforte with the polyptych Boccati, Castle of Rancia and Tolentino, Abbey of Chiaravalle of Fiastra and Urbisaglia with archaecological excavations and stronghold, walking tour on Monti Sibillini, Amandola, Monte S. Martino

Macerata, Urbino, Loreto, Assisi, Perugia, Gubbio, Todi, Ascoli Piceno and Recanati, the Caves of Frasassi, and the beautiful beaches of the Riviera del Conero.
